Me

My name is John Eikemeyer and I am the only person who is behind the photos of Jikemeyer Photography. I have grown up in the Santa Cruz area and grew my photography business here as well. I mainly shoot on digital formats but, I have been getting into more film photography. I now shoot digital, 35mm film and medium format film. I have a pretty open skill set when it comes to photography and editing. I shoot Real Estate, Cars, Weddings, Portraits, and Landscapes. If you want pictures of it I am your guy.

My philosophy

I have been taking photos throughout my life. I have a good eye for things and can be kind of picky when it comes to taking photos that I’d consider “good”. Nevertheless, I’ve based my photography philosophy on beauty. We all have our own subjective view on what is beautiful so, I try to express the beauty I see in things by taking photos and turning them into pieces of art for others to enjoy. I believe beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I tend to think some people have strict views on what they think is beautiful. I only ask for those people to open their eyes to the possibility that beauty could be in everything that surrounds us. Life is art and that art is beautiful. let me show you how I view life through my lenses.
